FAQs

Questions people ask

How much are music lessons?

£18 for 30 minutes or £36 for an hour, for every instrument. You pay as you go when you book online, with no contract or term fees.

When are lessons?

Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 9:30pm. That covers straight after school and evenings after work. You can see live availability for each teacher when you book.

What age can lessons start?

Most instruments start from around 6 years old, and there is no upper age limit. About half of our students are adults, from complete beginners to people returning after years away.

Do you offer grade exams?

Yes, if you want them. We’re an official London College of Music exam centre, and our teachers also prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity grades. Plenty of students learn purely for fun.

How do I book?

Choose your instrument, pick a teacher and a time, and pay online. You’ll get an account where you can see, rearrange or cancel lessons. Give 48 hours’ notice to make changes.

What if I can’t manage stairs?

Every lesson can be taught on the ground floor. We have a few extra teaching rooms upstairs for busy times, so just let us know and we’ll keep your lessons downstairs.

Do you do home visits or online lessons?

No. All lessons take place at the school in Thornaby, in our purpose-built teaching studios.
